Child and Adolescent Health Nurse Acute Care Certificate

The Post-MSN Child and Adolescent Health Nurse Practitioner certificate program is designed for those nurses who hold the Master of Science in Nursing degree and are seeking preparation for the role of the pediatric nurse practitioner. Upon completion of the 17 credit hour program, the students are eligible to sit for the pediatric nurse practitioner certification examination.


Admission Requirements

  • Hold an MSN degree from a professionally accredited nursing program
  • 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale for the master's degree program
  • Hold certification as a pediatric nurse practitioner in primary care
  • Current State of Ohio license to practice nursing
  • Minimum of one year of clinical practice in pediatric nursing
  • 300 word essay describing professional goals
  • Interview with Program Coordinator

Application Deadline

Applications to the Child/Adolescent Health Nurse Acute Care (Post MSN) Certificate program are accepted on a rolling basis.

Assistantship/Scholarship Information

Not all departments offer graduate assistantships. Students should inquire with the department directly to determine assistantship availability.
